يرى الكاتب أن ميسي – رغم أنه يأتي ثانياً بعد مارادونا في نظر من عاصروا أسطورة الأرجنتين – أحدث نقلة نوعية في كرة القدم الحديثة، وخلق لغة تواصل عالمية. لكن مارادونا يظل ظاهرة فريدة. ويميز ميسي نفسه بأرقام قياسية وتأثير يفوق أقرانه، مما يجعله أسطورة خالدة. ويحذر الكاتب من التقييم العاطفي للنجوم، داعياً إلى الالتزام بالحقائق والثوابت.

أثار إعلان الأمير فيصل بن تركي دعمه لميسي والأرجنتين غضب بعض جماهير النصر، الذين يرون أن أي نصراوي لا بد أن يكون مع رونالدو حصراً. لكن الكاتب يرى أن هذا الحكم غير منطقي، مشيراً إلى أن رونالدو نجم كبير ووجوده في الدوري السعودي مرحب به، مع التأكيد على ضرورة تقبل الآراء المختلفة لأن جوهر كرة القدم هو الحب والتنافس المشوق.

الأمير فيصل بن تركي حسم الأمر بهذا المنشور: «الإخوة الأحبة، هذا كأس العالم وليس الدوري السعودي. أنا أشجع الأرجنتين وأحب ميسي، ولكن أنا نصراوي أولاً وأخيراً، وحاضر باللي يبيه النصر».

ومن هنا وجب علينا أن نحترم مشاعر الآخرين تجاه منتخباتهم المفضلة ونجومهم المفضلين. ومن يلوم الأمير في حب ميسي وتشجيع الأرجنتين يجب أن يعيد صياغة تعامله مع الرياضة. أما من يحشرون رونالدو في مقارنة مع ميسي فهدفهم إثارة مبتذلة؛ لأن مثل هذه المقارنات تخدم ميسي ولا تضر رونالدو.

أخيراً، تقول أحلام مستغانمي: وحده الزمن سيدلك على الصواب عندما يفقد الآخرون صوابهم.

أما التاريخ... فلا تتوقع في هذه الحالات أن يقول كلمته على عجل.

هو أيضاً ينتظر.

In their view, any Al-Nasr fan should be with Ronaldo and no one else, and this judgment or evaluation is illogical. Ronaldo is a great star, and we are happy to have him in the Saudi league, but we must understand all opinions and all feelings; the beauty of football lies in its competitions, excitement, and enjoyment because it is fundamentally built on love and not hatred.
