RIYADH — The Communications, Space and Technology Commission's (CST) Internet 2025 report revealed that 45.2 percent of internet users in Saudi Arabia have adopted artificial intelligence tools.

The fifth edition of the commission's report examines the progress of the Kingdom's digital infrastructure, outlining major internet usage patterns and the swift uptake of new technologies.

It also revealed that the average mobile internet data consumption reached 53 GB per person per month—three times the global average.

The report further noted that the median mobile internet download speed reached 216 Mbps, placing Saudi Arabia among the top five G20 countries in this indicator.

According to the report, 61.3% of users are online for seven hours or more each day, underscoring the increasing integration of digital technology into everyday life.

The report also examined usage patterns across digital applications and services in the Kingdom, including the most-used and most-downloaded apps in the categories of social media, government services, sports, and artificial intelligence.

Additionally, it highlighted an 18 percent annual growth in Saudi (.sa) domain names, reflecting increased trust in internet browsing within the Kingdom.

The report also covered additional indicators related to the development of Saudi Arabia's digital ecosystem, including the fastest-growing applications, browsing habits, the most widely used search engines, and continued growth in Saudi domain name registrations.

The report forms part of the CST's ongoing efforts to monitor the development of Saudi Arabia's internet ecosystem and enhance the efficiency of digital services in support of innovation and economic growth.

These numbers highlight Saudi Arabia's rapid digital transformation under Vision 2030. The high mobile data consumption and fast internet speeds signal robust network investments, while the growing adoption of AI tools reflects a tech-savvy population. The report's insights can inform stakeholders on future digital strategies and policy priorities.
