روما تمهد لانسحاب إسرائيلي من جنوب لبنان

عقب محادثات استمرت يومين في روما، اتفقت لبنان وإسرائيل يوم الأربعاء على هيكل وإرشادات عملية لتطبيق المناطق التجريبية في جنوب لبنان.

تأتي هذه المحادثات في إطار الجهود الدبلوماسية الرامية إلى تخفيف التوتر على الحدود اللبنانية الإسرائيلية.

وذكرت مصادر إعلامية أنه من المحتمل عقد اجتماع عسكري عبر الاتصال المرئي بين الجانبين، يوم (الجمعة) القادم، لاستكمال إجراءات انسحاب القوات الإسرائيلية من المنطقتين التجريبيتين وانتشار الجيش اللبناني فيهما.

وأفادت السفارة الأميركية في بيروت، في بيان لها، بأن المحادثات اختُتمت بعد يومين من النقاشات المثمرة والإيجابية، مشيرةً إلى التوصل لاتفاق على هيكلية وإرشادات عملية لآلية المناطق التجريبية، على أن تُستكمل الإجراءات النهائية وتُوضع موضع التنفيذ خلال الأيام القادمة.

وذكر مسؤول أميركي أن التقدم المحرز في المحادثات قد يسمح للقوات الإسرائيلية ببدء الانسحاب من بعض أجزاء جنوب لبنان في غضون أيام، دون تحديد جدول زمني ملزم لذلك.

وتشمل الإجراءات المطروحة انسحاب القوات الإسرائيلية من المنطقتين، ودخول الجيش اللبناني وانتشاره فيهما، إلى جانب الترتيبات المتعلقة بمراقبة الانسحاب والتحقق من تنفيذ الالتزامات المتفق عليها.

بدوره، أعلن الجيش اللبناني تنفيذ دوريات وإقامة حواجز في بلدات فرون والغندورية وقلاوية وبرج قلاوية وكفردونين، مؤكداً مقتل جندي كان قد فُقد الاتصال به في 19 أبريل الماضي، وتبين أنه قُتل نتيجة استهدافه داخل سيارته من قبل الجيش الإسرائيلي واحتُجز جثمانه، وتسلمه الجيش اللبناني اليوم عبر اللجنة الدولية للصليب الأحمر.

في المقابل، قال الجيش الإسرائيلي إنه قتل 3 مسلحين من «حزب الله» في منطقة بيت ياحون داخل المنطقة الأمنية بجنوب لبنان.

Two days after talks in Rome, Lebanon and Israel reached a framework and practical guidelines for implementing the experimental zones in southern Lebanon on Wednesday.

Media sources reported that a military meeting via video conference between the two sides is likely to be held next Friday to complete the procedures for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the two experimental zones and the deployment of the Lebanese army in them.

The U.S. embassy in Beirut stated in a statement that the talks concluded after two days of fruitful and positive discussions, clarifying that an agreement was reached on the framework and practical guidelines for the mechanism of the experimental zones, with final procedures to be completed and put into effect in the coming days.

An American official reported that the progress made in the talks could allow Israeli forces to begin withdrawing from some parts of southern Lebanon within days, without announcing a binding timeline for that.

The proposed procedures include the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the two zones, the entry and deployment of the Lebanese army in them, along with arrangements related to monitoring the withdrawal and verifying the implementation of the agreed commitments.

For its part, the Lebanese army announced the implementation of patrols and the establishment of checkpoints in the towns of Froun, Al-Ghandouriya, Qalaouiyeh, Burj Qalaouiyeh, and Kfardounin, confirming the death of a soldier who had lost contact on April 19, which was found to be due to being targeted inside his vehicle by the Israeli army, and his body was handed over to the Lebanese army today through the International Committee of the Red Cross.

In contrast, the Israeli army stated that it killed 3 militants from "Hezbollah" in the Beit Yahoun area within the security zone in southern Lebanon.
