JEDDAH — Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney met Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef on Thursday during his official visit to the Kingdom.

During his meeting with Prince Abdulaziz, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in the energy sector, explore joint investment opportunities and exchange views on issues of mutual interest.

Alkhorayef also met Carney to discuss ways to strengthen industrial and mining cooperation and expand investment partnerships between Saudi Arabia and Canada.

The two sides reviewed opportunities to deepen collaboration in advanced industries and explored initiatives that support the shared economic interests of both countries.

They also highlighted the role of Canadian companies in Saudi Arabia's mining sector, particularly their investments in mineral exploration projects, and expressed their aspiration to expand the strategic partnership in mining and minerals in support of the two countries' economic development goals.
