أحرز المنتخب السعودي للأحياء أربع جوائز دولية في الدورة السابعة والثلاثين من أولمبياد الأحياء الدولي (IBO 2026)، التي تستضيفها مدينة فيلنيوس في ليتوانيا بين 12 و19 يوليو، بمشاركة 312 طالباً وطالبة من 80 دولة.

يأتي هذا التميز العلمي في إطار جهود المملكة المتواصلة لدعم المواهب الشابة وتعزيز قدراتها في المجالات العلمية والتقنية.

وحصل الطالب طه أرشد كدوائي من الإدارة العامة للتعليم بمحافظة جدة على ميدالية فضية، فيما نال الطالب حمزة محمد باعيسى من الإدارة العامة للتعليم بمنطقة الرياض، والطالب إلياس فوزي عصلوب من الإدارة العامة للتعليم بمحافظة جدة، ميداليتين برونزيتين، وحصل الطالب فيصل سعد العبداللطيف من الإدارة العامة للتعليم بمنطقة الرياض على شهادة تقدير.

تشارك المملكة في الأولمبياد ممثلة بمؤسسة الملك عبدالعزيز ورجاله للموهبة والإبداع «موهبة» وبالشراكة مع وزارة التعليم، وذلك للمرة الخامسة. ويرفع هذا الإنجاز رصيدها في أولمبياد الأحياء الدولي إلى 19 جائزة دولية، تشمل 5 ميداليات فضية و9 برونزية و5 شهادات تقدير، في إنجاز يعزز حضور المملكة في المحافل العلمية الدولية.

وجاء هذا الإنجاز بعد رحلة تدريبية مكثفة خاضها الطلبة ضمن برنامج موهبة للأولمبيادات الدولية على مدى العام، تضمنت مراحل متعددة من التدريب العلمي النظري والعملي، إلى جانب معسكرات داخلية وخارجية، هدفت إلى تنمية مهاراتهم في التخصصات المتقدمة، ورفع جاهزيتهم للمنافسة على المستوى الدولي، بما يسهم في تمثيل المملكة بصورة مشرّفة، تماشياً مع مستهدفات رؤية السعودية 2030.

ويُظهر هذا الإنجاز المستوى العلمي المتقدم الذي وصل إليه الطلبة السعوديون، وقدرتهم على المنافسة في أحد أبرز المحافل العلمية العالمية في علوم الحياة، بما يمتلكونه من معرفة ومهارات بحثية وعملية، وقدرة على التحليل والاستنتاج والتعامل مع التحديات العلمية.

ويُعد أولمبياد الأحياء الدولي المسابقة العالمية الأبرز لطلبة المرحلة الثانوية في مجال علوم الحياة، إذ يجمع سنوياً، منذ انطلاقه عام 1989، نخبة الطلبة الموهوبين من مختلف دول العالم، للتنافس في اختبارات متقدمة تقيس المعرفة العلمية، والقدرة على حل المشكلات البيولوجية المعقدة، وتنفيذ المهام المختبرية العملية.

يذكر أن «موهبة» مؤسسة وطنية رائدة عالمياً في اكتشاف ورعاية وتمكين الموهوبين، وتعمل وفق إستراتيجية وطنية لتنمية الموهبة في المجالات العلمية ذات الأولوية، بما يسهم في بناء مجتمع معرفي، وتعزيز ثقافة الابتكار، ودعم التنمية الوطنية.

The Saudi team for the International Biology Olympiad (IBO 2026) achieved 4 international awards in the 37th edition of the International Biology Olympiad, which is held in Vilnius, Lithuania, from July 12 to 19, with the participation of 312 students representing 80 countries.

Student Taha Arshad Kadwai from the General Education Administration in Jeddah won a silver medal, while student Hamza Mohammed Baaisa from the General Education Administration in Riyadh and student Ilyas Fawzi Asloob from the General Education Administration in Jeddah each received bronze medals. Additionally, student Faisal Saad Al-Abdulatif from the General Education Administration in Riyadh received a certificate of appreciation.

The Kingdom participates in the Olympiad, represented by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba", in partnership with the Ministry of Education, for the fifth time. This achievement raises its tally in the International Biology Olympiad to 19 international awards, including 5 silver medals, 9 bronze medals, and 5 certificates of appreciation, marking a new accomplishment that solidifies the Kingdom's presence in international scientific Olympiads.

This achievement came after an intensive training journey undertaken by the students as part of the Mawhiba program for international Olympiads throughout the year, which included multiple stages of theoretical and practical scientific training, in addition to internal and external camps aimed at developing their skills in advanced specializations and enhancing their readiness to compete at the international level, contributing to representing the Kingdom honorably, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

This achievement reflects the advanced scientific level reached by Saudi students and their ability to compete in one of the most prominent global scientific forums in the field of life sciences, thanks to their scientific knowledge, research and practical skills, and their ability to analyze, deduce, and tackle advanced scientific challenges.

The International Biology Olympiad is the premier global competition for high school students in the field of life sciences, bringing together annually, since its inception in 1989, a select group of talented students from various countries around the world to compete in advanced tests that measure scientific knowledge, the ability to solve complex biological problems, and the execution of practical laboratory tasks.

It is worth noting that "Mawhiba" is a leading national institution globally in discovering, nurturing, and empowering talented individuals, working according to a national strategy to develop talent in priority scientific fields, contributing to building a knowledge-based society, enhancing a culture of innovation, and supporting national development.

وتؤكد هذه المشاركة المتزايدة للمملكة في الأولمبياد الجهود المستمرة لاكتشاف ورعاية الموهوبين، بما يتماشى مع رؤية 2030. كما أن النتائج المتصاعدة تعكس فعالية برامج التدريب المكثفة التي تقدمها مؤسسة موهبة. ويظل أولمبياد الأحياء الدولي محطة رئيسية لقياس تقدم الطلاب السعوديين في علوم الحياة على المستوى العالمي.
