الأمير فيصل بن فرحان يؤكد في ملتقى كامبريدج أن الدبلوماسية هي السبيل الوحيد لاستقرار المنطقة

انضم وزير الخارجية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان بن عبدالله إلى فعاليات الدورة السادسة عشرة من ملتقى الخليج للأبحاث عبر تقنية الاتصال المرئي، والذي عُقد في مدينة كامبريدج البريطانية.

ويأتي مشاركته في هذا المنتدى الأكاديمي ضمن مساعي المملكة لتعزيز الحوار الإقليمي والدولي حول قضايا الأمن والاستقرار.

وفي كلمته بالملتقى، شدد وزير الخارجية على أن المنطقة تشهد مرحلة حاسمة تستلزم تكثيف الحوار والدبلوماسية والعمل الجماعي لمواجهة التحديات الإقليمية والدولية، مؤكدًا أن الاستقرار المستدام لا يتحقق بالقوة العسكرية، وإنما عبر حلول دبلوماسية دائمة تعالج الأسباب الجذرية للأزمات.

وأوضح أن التطورات الأخيرة أظهرت تأثير التوترات الإقليمية على الساحة الدولية، وانعكاساتها على الأمن العالمي وأسواق الطاقة والنمو الاقتصادي، داعيًا إلى توجيه الجهود نحو الحفاظ على النظام الدولي القائم وتهيئة الظروف اللازمة لإيجاد حلول سياسية تُفضي إلى تحقيق الأمن والسلام الدائمين، بدلًا من الاكتفاء بخفض التصعيد المؤقت.

وأشار وزير الخارجية إلى أن بناء نظام إقليمي أكثر استقرارًا يتطلب الالتزام بالمبادئ الأساسية المنصوص عليها في ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، وفي مقدمتها احترام سيادة الدول وعدم التدخل في شؤونها الداخلية واحترام مبادئ حسن الجوار، وضمان حرية الملاحة والالتزام بالقانون الدولي، مؤكدًا أن هذه المبادئ تمثل الأساس لأي نظام إقليمي مستقر.

وأكد معاليه أن المنطقة تنعم بإمكانيات هائلة تمكنها من بناء مستقبل أكثر ازدهارًا، معبرًا عن تفاؤله بقدرة المنطقة على تجاوز التحديات الحالية، ومشيرًا إلى أن رؤية المملكة 2030 تنبني على قناعة راسخة بأن التنمية والابتكار وتوفير الفرص هي السبيل الأمثل لتحقيق الاستقرار وتفادي النزاعات.

وقال: إن استثمار هذه المرحلة يتطلب العمل على إرساء نظام إقليمي أكثر تعاونًا واستقرارًا، يقوم على مبادئ واضحة، والاحترام المتبادل، واتفاقات مستدامة تحقق السلام والأمن والازدهار للجميع.

ونوّه وزير الخارجية في ختام كلمته بالدور الذي تؤديه المنتديات الأكاديمية، ومنها ملتقى الخليج للأبحاث في تعميق الفهم وتعزيز الحوار، وبحث الأفكار التي تُسهم في دعم صناع القرار، وبناء مستقبل أكثر استقرارًا وازدهارًا واستدامة للمنطقة والعالم.

Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah participated, via video conferencing, in the 16th Gulf Research Forum held in Cambridge, United Kingdom.

The Foreign Minister delivered a speech at the forum, in which he affirmed that the region is going through a pivotal phase that requires enhancing dialogue, diplomacy, and joint action to face regional and international challenges, emphasizing that achieving lasting stability cannot be done through military force, but rather through sustainable diplomatic solutions that address the root causes of crises.

He explained that recent developments have shown the impact of regional tensions on the international stage, and their reflections on global security, energy markets, and economic growth, calling for efforts to be directed towards maintaining the existing international order and creating the necessary conditions for political solutions that lead to achieving lasting security and peace, instead of merely settling for temporary de-escalation.

The Foreign Minister pointed out that building a more stable regional system requires commitment to the fundamental principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter, foremost among them respect for the sovereignty of states, non-interference in their internal affairs, respect for the principles of good neighborliness, ensuring freedom of navigation, and adherence to international law, stressing that these principles represent the foundation for any stable regional system.

The Foreign Minister affirmed that the region possesses great potential that qualifies it to achieve a more prosperous future, expressing his optimism about the possibility of overcoming current challenges, and noting that Saudi Vision 2030 is based on a firm belief that development, innovation, and providing opportunities represent the best path to achieving stability and avoiding conflicts.

He stated that investing in this phase requires working to establish a more cooperative and stable regional system, based on clear principles, mutual respect, and sustainable agreements that achieve peace, security, and prosperity for all.

In conclusion, the Foreign Minister highlighted the role played by academic forums, including the Gulf Research Forum, in deepening understanding, enhancing dialogue, and exploring ideas that contribute to supporting decision-makers and building a more stable, prosperous, and sustainable future for the region and the world.
