Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry issued its strongest condemnation of Iran's ongoing destabilizing actions, calling them a threat to regional security and stability and a breach of international law.

In the Sunday statement, the ministry declared that Iran's repeated assaults on commercial ships contravene the UN Charter, the OIC Charter, and the principles of good neighborly relations.

The Kingdom stressed that these attacks threaten maritime security and freedom of navigation.

The statement also condemned Iran's continued hostile attacks targeting Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Jordan.

The Kingdom reiterated its categorical rejection of Iran's violations of the sovereignty of these brotherly states and its continued actions that threaten the security and stability of the region.

Saudi Arabia has long accused Iran of fomenting instability in the Middle East. The attacks on commercial shipping, in particular, risk disrupting global oil trade through the Strait of Hormuz. The international community will be watching for any United Nations or OIC actions in response to the complaint.
