ارتفعت حصيلة ضحايا الزلزالين اللذين ضربا شمال فنزويلا في 24 يونيو الماضي إلى 5346 قتيلًا، وفق أحدث حصيلة رسمية أعلنها رئيس الجمعية الوطنية الفنزويلية خورخي رودريغيز.
واستقر عدد المصابين عند 16740 شخصًا، بينما تواصل فرق الإنقاذ وإزالة الأنقاض أعمالها في المناطق المنكوبة، ولا سيما ولاية لا غوايرا الساحلية، التي كانت الأكثر تضررًا من الزلزالين اللذين بلغت قوتهما 7.2 و7.5 درجة على مقياس ريختر، وأعقبتهما أكثر من ألف هزة ارتدادية.
وفي لا غوايرا، لا يزال نحو 20 ألف شخص يعيشون في مخيمات إيواء مؤقتة أُقيمت في ملاعب وساحات عامة وعلى الأرصفة، وسط استمرار الجهود الحكومية والإنسانية لتوفير المساعدات وإعادة إسكان المتضررين، في حين تُقدّر منظمات دولية أن مئات الآلاف ما زالوا بحاجة إلى مساعدات إنسانية عاجلة.

The death toll from the two earthquakes that struck northern Venezuela on June 24 has risen to 5,346, according to the latest official figures announced by the President of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez.
The number of injured remains at 16,740, while rescue and debris removal teams continue their work in the affected areas, particularly in the coastal state of La Guaira, which was the hardest hit by the earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, followed by more than a thousand aftershocks.
In La Guaira, around 20,000 people are still living in temporary shelters set up in playgrounds, public squares, and on sidewalks, amid ongoing government and humanitarian efforts to provide aid and resettle the affected individuals, while international organizations estimate that hundreds of thousands still need urgent humanitarian assistance.
