من الكرة إلى السياسة.. هل يقود إنفانتينو الأمم المتحدة خلفا لغوتيريش؟

كشفت تقارير إعلامية أمريكية عن رغبة الرئيس دونالد ترمب في تقديم رئيس الفيفا جياني إنفانتينو كمرشح لمنصب الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، خلفًا لأنطونيو غوتيريش الذي تنتهي ولايته في نهاية العام الجاري.

يُذكر أن انتخاب الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة يتم عبر تصويت مجلس الأمن ثم الجمعية العامة، ويتطلب توافقًا دوليًا واسعًا.

وبحسب ما نقلته صحيفة «نيويورك بوست»، فإن ترمب يعتبر إنفانتينو شخصية دولية بارزة قادرة على جمع الشعوب، مما يجعله مؤهلاً لقيادة الأمم المتحدة.

ونقلت الصحيفة عن مصدر مقرب من الرئيس قوله: «إن ترمب يعتقد أن إنفانتينو يحظى باحترام في مختلف أنحاء العالم، ولديه قدرة خاصة على توحيد الناس».

وتأتي هذه الأنباء بعد أشهر من العلاقة الوثيقة التي جمعت الرجلين خلال كأس العالم 2026، التي استضافتها الولايات المتحدة وكندا والمكسيك، إذ ظهر ترمب وإنفانتينو معا في العديد من المناسبات الرسمية، وحضر الرئيس الأمريكي المباراة النهائية بين إسبانيا والأرجنتين.

وخلال البطولة، أثار التقارب بين الطرفين اهتمام وسائل الإعلام، بعدما منح إنفانتينو ترمب جائزة فيفا للسلام، وهي جائزة استحدثها الاتحاد الدولي لأول مرة، كما سمح له بتسليم كأس البطولة للمنتخب الإسباني المتوج باللقب، في خطوة غير مسبوقة.

ويواجه أي ترشيح محتمل لإنفانتينو عقبات كبيرة، إذ يتطلب منصب الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة موافقة أعضاء مجلس الأمن الدولي الـ15، بمن فيهم الدول الخمس دائمة العضوية التي تمتلك حق النقض (الفيتو)، قبل أن يصادق عليه أعضاء الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة.

ومن المقرر انتخاب الأمين العام الجديد في ديسمبر القادم، مع انتهاء ولاية غوتيريش التي استمرت 10 سنوات.

وحتى كتابة هذه السطور لم يصدر أي تعليق رسمي من جياني إنفانتينو أو الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم بشأن ما أوردته وسائل الإعلام الأمريكية، كما لم يعلن رئيس فيفا نيته خوض سباق المنصب الأممي.

The "New York Post" confirmed that Trump believes Infantino has a strong international image and exceptional ability to unite people, qualities he considers suitable for leading the international organization.

The newspaper quoted a source close to the U.S. president as saying that Trump believes Infantino is respected around the world and has a unique ability to bring people together.

This news comes after months of a close relationship between the two men during the 2026 World Cup, which was hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, where Trump and Infantino appeared together at several official events, and the U.S. president attended the final match between Spain and Argentina.

During the tournament, the closeness between the two parties attracted media attention after Infantino awarded Trump the FIFA Peace Prize, a new award created by the international federation for the first time, and allowed him to present the championship trophy to the Spanish national team, which won the title, in an unprecedented move.

Any potential nomination for Infantino faces significant obstacles, as the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations requires the approval of all 15 members of the Security Council, including the five permanent members with veto power, before being ratified by the members of the UN General Assembly.

The new Secretary-General is set to be elected in December, coinciding with the end of Guterres's 10-year term.

As of the writing of this text, there has been no official comment from Gianni Infantino or FIFA regarding what has been reported by American media, nor has the FIFA president announced his intention to run for the international position.
