SABIC Signs MoU with Ceer to Support Electric Vehicle Industry in Saudi Arabia
SABIC and Ceer signed a memorandum of understanding to develop electric vehicles using advanced materials, and to support local manufacturing and supply chains in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Ceer, the first Saudi brand for electric vehicle manufacturing, to explore collaboration opportunities in using advanced materials and innovative solutions produced by SABIC in the design, development, and manufacturing of Ceer's electric vehicles.
The MoU aims to assess opportunities for using SABIC's advanced materials in automotive applications, develop materials and manufacturing solutions that meet production needs, and exchange expertise and information related to sustainability and technology to support product development and engineering at Ceer.
Areas of potential cooperation also include exploring strategic sourcing opportunities and building a local supply chain with global standards for the electric vehicle sector in the Kingdom, as well as discussing additional areas for joint collaboration between the two parties.

The MoU was signed at SABIC's headquarters in Riyadh by the company's CEO Dr. Faisal Al-Faqeer and Ceer's CEO James DeLuca.
Al-Faqeer said that the collaboration leverages SABIC's global expertise in advanced materials solutions for the electric vehicle industry, and contributes to accelerating innovation, enhancing local content, and building an integrated national supply chain that supports the sector's global competitiveness, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Industrial Strategy.
For his part, DeLuca said that the collaboration represents an important step in Ceer's journey to design, engineer, and manufacture world-class electric vehicles within the Kingdom, noting that integrating SABIC's advanced materials and technical expertise will support building a strong local supply chain and contribute to developing the mobility and advanced technology sector in Saudi Arabia.
SABIC is one of the world's leading producers of advanced materials used in the electric vehicle industry, while Ceer is working to develop an integrated and sustainable local ecosystem for electric vehicle manufacturing in the Kingdom, thereby enhancing the sector's competitiveness and accelerating the transition to electric mobility.
