At the beginning of this week, a citizen observed that a number of truck drivers continue to drive in the wrong direction at the Abu Marwa intersection on the dual Al-Quwa'iyah–Al-Dawadmi road, in a repeated traffic violation that poses a serious danger to road users.

The citizen explained that the violations are committed by trucks coming from the Nakheelan road, in addition to others taking the Riyadh–Taif highway via Nakheelan road to the intersection, before driving in the wrong direction in violation of traffic regulations.

The monitoring revealed clear recklessness by some drivers, as their trucks enter the wrong direction without regard for vehicles coming from Al-Dawadmi, increasing the likelihood of serious traffic accidents and threatening the safety of road users.

This comes amid a record of repeated accidents at the same site, the most tragic of which was an accident that killed a child and seriously injured his mother, when their vehicle collided with a truck driving in the wrong direction at the intersection.

These recurring incidents have brought back calls to intensify traffic monitoring at the intersection, take urgent measures to curb these dangerous violations, and enhance traffic safety measures at the site.
