More than 51,000 Saudi families have obtained their first home since the beginning of 2026 through the end of May, according to the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, as part of its efforts to provide diverse housing and financing solutions for eligible families.

The ministry explained that the total number of families benefiting from housing support services in the same period reached 38,400 families, reflecting the continued pace of housing enablement and acceleration of ownership procedures through an integrated system of programs and housing and financing solutions.

It showed that the total number of supported contracts for beneficiaries since the launch of the Sakani program in 2017 until the end of May 2026 exceeded one million, an indicator reflecting the cumulative impact of the program in enhancing ownership opportunities and raising homeownership rates.

It pointed out that Riyadh accounted for the highest share of total supported contracts, followed by Makkah and then the Eastern Province, reflecting the expanding scope of benefit from housing support programs and growing demand for housing solutions across various regions of the Kingdom.

It affirmed that its targets are not limited to enabling families to own homes but extend to developing integrated residential communities that provide quality of life, contribute to building vibrant and sustainable urban environments that meet residents' needs and align with their future aspirations, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

"Sakani" continued to offer a diverse package of housing solutions and options, including ready-made housing units, units under construction within off-plan sales projects, in addition to self-construction and residential lands, providing multiple options that suit the needs and different preferences of Saudi families, and giving beneficiaries greater flexibility in choosing a home.

The ministry explained that housing projects implemented in partnership with real estate developers contribute to developing integrated communities that combine housing, services, public facilities, and open spaces, enhancing quality of life and elevating the living experience, embodying the shift towards vibrant communities that provide a comprehensive environment for Saudi families.

It noted that these efforts contributed to raising the homeownership rate of Saudi families to 66.24% by the end of 2025, in continuous progress towards the Housing Program's target of reaching a 70% ownership rate.

The ministry renewed its commitment to continuing to enhance the housing supply and launch more projects and housing options in partnership with the private sector across various regions of the Kingdom, contributing to meeting the needs of Saudi families, achieving balance in the real estate market, and supporting the building of prosperous communities.
