Al-Drees to Al-Eqtisadiah: Non-operational revenues supported quarterly results

Al-Drees Petroleum Services and Transportation Company confirmed that it added 351 trucks to its fleet compared to last year, as part of supporting its operational processes and enhancing its capabilities in the transportation and logistics sector.

The company explained to Al-Eqtisadiah that the profit growth during the period came as a result of increased sales in the petroleum services and transportation and logistics sectors, not due to improved profit margins.

Regarding the impact of non-operational revenues, the company stated that revenues from bank deposits and investment in sukuk contributed an amount of 19.9 million riyals to the profits of the second quarter of this year, along with other revenues.

The company had announced in a statement via Tadawul that the reason for the increase in net profit in the current quarter compared to the previous quarter is due to increased sales in the Naqel and Petroleum sectors and an increase in other revenues.

The reason for the increase in sales during the quarter on an annual basis is attributed to an expansion in the number of stations and an increase in the number of trucks, investment in sukuk, and a decrease in selling and marketing expenses.

This came despite a decrease in bank deposit revenues, losses from the results of the joint venture investment, and an increase in general and administrative expenses and financing costs.

According to the company, the transportation and logistics sector 'Naqel' was the largest contributor to the increase in profits compared to the petroleum services sector.

Regarding future challenges, the company indicated that it faces the usual challenges associated with the nature of the two sectors' operations, affirming that it has the ability to deal with operational and market variables to support continued growth.

Al-Drees, listed on the Saudi market, continues to expand its network of stations by opening new stations and acquiring existing sites, which supports the growth of fuel sales and non-fuel activities and enhances its presence in the retail and petroleum services market.
