Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced on Sunday that a consortium of Petrojet and Enppi companies signed an agreement with Petroleum Development Oman to implement projects in the sultanate worth more than $6 billion.

The ministry clarified in a statement that the agreement extends for six years.

The statement noted that the agreement was signed at the Omani company's headquarters, without specifying the signing date.

It said that a consortium of Petrojet and Enppi succeeded in winning a long-term framework agreement for engineering, procurement, and construction works with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), the largest oil and gas exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman.

The statement explained that the agreement comes within the framework of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources' strategy to enhance the external expansion of project companies in the Egyptian petroleum sector, open new markets for them, and maximize exports of engineering and technical services.

It indicated that the agreement "extends for six years, where the Petrojet-Enppi consortium was selected to be one of only four global consortia and contractors qualified to compete to implement projects through competitive tenders within a portfolio of works worth more than $6 billion, representing a qualitative leap in the consortium's business expansion in the Omani market."

The statement pointed out that the consortium will work to transfer knowledge and expertise, contribute to qualifying Omani engineering cadres, and enhance the participation of local companies and national supply chains, thus supporting sustainable economic development and aligning with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
