Turkish Retail Sales Rise Again in May
Data from the Turkish Statistical Institute showed on Monday that retail sales rose in May after a slowdown in April.
Retail sales rose 13.7% year-on-year in May, after an 11.7% increase in April, when growth slowed to the weakest pace since March 2025.
Non-food product sales excluding fuel rose 17.5% compared to 14.8%, while food product sales rose 9.1% compared to 7.8%, according to the German news agency dpa.
Online retail sales rose 16.2% year-on-year, after rising 18.8% in April.
Retail sales also rose 2.4% month-on-month in May, after falling 1.6% in April.
