Kenyan Prime Minister tells Al-Eqtisadiah: Talks to export skilled labor to Saudi Arabia
Kenyan Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Musalia Mudavadi told Al-Eqtisadiah today that his country intends to start discussions on attracting more skilled Kenyan talent to Saudi Arabia, to meet the demand for labor from investments, businessmen, or companies.
Mudavadi added: 'This is a very positive development, and we in Kenya look forward to enhancing investment between the two countries,' noting that Kenya has signed a number of memorandums of understanding, one aimed at boosting investments, and another for cooperation between the customs and revenue authorities of the two countries to enable working together in the future.
The Kenyan Prime Minister explained that the two sides held very fruitful discussions on areas of common cooperation, how to strengthen political relations, cooperation on security issues, business, as well as appreciation for the large number of Kenyans residing and working in Saudi Arabia.
On the sidelines of his speech today during the Saudi-Kenyan roundtable at the Federation of Chambers Council, the Prime Minister reviewed investment opportunities in Kenya's energy and logistics sectors, stating that the investment opportunities in these two sectors are very huge given that many countries in Africa do not have ports, seas, or beaches, meaning they depend on Kenya's ports, which represents major investment opportunities for Kenya in the energy and logistics sectors.

Discussion of investment opportunities
The roundtable witnessed a review of promising investment opportunities and an exploration of the foundations for cooperation between the two countries in a number of economic sectors, in addition to discussing ways to expand partnerships between the business communities and enhance direct communication between investors, supporting the growth of trade and investment exchange.
The program also included presentations by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the Saudi Export Development Authority, the Saudi Export-Import Bank, and Kenyan investment authorities, in addition to an open discussion session and bilateral meetings between Saudi and Kenyan companies to explore cooperation opportunities and build investment partnerships.
The Saudi-Kenyan Business Council plays an active role in strengthening economic relations between Saudi Arabia and Kenya, by linking business communities, facilitating communication between investors, exploring investment and trade opportunities, and supporting the establishment of qualitative partnerships that contribute to the development of trade and investment exchange between the two countries.
It is noteworthy that the meeting was organized as part of the efforts of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, and through the active role of the Saudi-Kenyan Business Council, to strengthen international economic relations and enable the private sector in both countries to build sustainable partnerships, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and enhancing the economic partnership between Saudi Arabia and Kenya.
