Four strategic projects in the electricity, cooling, and logistics sectors in Jazan Basic and Conversion Industries City are expected to be completed by 2026, according to what the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu told Al-Eqtisadiah.

The Commission said that this comes within its plans to raise infrastructure readiness, enhance the city's competitiveness, attract local and international investments, in addition to supporting the readiness of the special economic zone.

It explained to Al-Eqtisadiah that the projects expected to be completed and operational next year include the (1A) power plant project and the 380 kV underground cable network, which has achieved 59% completion, and aims to secure stable electricity supplies for industrial and residential areas in Jazan Basic and Conversion Industries City, as the project has reached the final stage of pre-commissioning tests.

The first phase of the seawater cooling system project is also nearing operation by 2027, and the project aims to supply heavy and light industrial areas with seawater through a network of offshore and onshore pipelines and integrated operational facilities, enhancing the city's readiness to receive future industrial projects.

Two projects in the industrial and logistics sector

On the logistics services side, the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu in Jazan Basic and Conversion Industries City continues to implement the first phase of the city's warehouses project, which has achieved 79% completion, and aims to provide integrated facilities that enhance the efficiency of operational services and provide storage facilities that support the city's needs.

The Commission is also implementing the ready-made industrial buildings project, which includes the construction of 38 ready-to-manufacture industrial units within an integrated industrial environment, with a completion rate of 48%, and aims to provide infrastructure and support services that meet the needs of investors and emerging and medium-sized industrial enterprises.

Jazan Basic and Conversion Industries City is the fourth industrial city managed by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu. It is located in the northern part of the Jazan region, about 70 kilometers from Jizan city, and covers an area of 266 square kilometers. The city focuses on the energy, refining, and conversion industries sectors, and includes an advanced port and special economic zones that support logistics and commercial activities.

These projects focus on supporting a number of strategic sectors within the city, including food industries, mining industries, heavy industries, and logistics services, in addition to the city center 'Jidana' in the residential area, which enhances integration between industrial and service activities and raises the quality of the investment environment.

In parallel, the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu in Jazan Basic and Conversion Industries City continues to develop the 'Jidana' project, which is one of the most prominent qualitative projects aimed at creating an integrated waterfront comprising 10 investment assets including the water park, aquarium mall, indoor entertainment square, beach club and resort, boutique beach resort, all-inclusive resort, exhibition and conference center, the multi-use 'Jidana Quay' area, 'Jidana Wharf' area and marina, in addition to the yacht club.

The Commission explained that the project includes the necessary planning work to attract investors to develop these assets, contributing to creating a vibrant destination that supports quality of life and stimulates economic and tourism activity in the region.
