ZATCA Calls on Establishments to Submit Their Tax Returns for May and June 2026
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) called on establishments subject to excise tax to submit their tax returns for the months of May and June 2026 by July 31, 2026, or earlier.
Submit the return and avoid the penalty
ZATCA urged establishments to hasten to submit their returns through the website (https://zatca.gov.sa/) to avoid the penalty for not submitting the return within the specified period, which is no less than 5% and no more than 25% of the tax value that was required to be declared, in addition to a penalty for late payment of unpaid tax of 5% of the unpaid tax amount for each month or part thereof of delay.
Communication and obtaining information
ZATCA invited business establishments wishing to obtain more information about the excise tax to contact it via the unified call center number (19993), which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or the 'Ask Zakat, Tax and Customs' account on platform X (@Zatca_Care) or email ([email protected]), or through instant chat on the authority's website.
The excise tax is one of the tax systems in force in the Kingdom, imposed on goods that have negative effects on public health or the environment at varying rates, and includes energy drinks, sweetened beverages, and tobacco and its derivatives.
