The Gulf economy achieved annual growth of 5.2% to reach $474.4 billion by the end of the third quarter of 2025, according to data from the Statistical Center for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

According to Gulf statistics indicators for June 2026, issued today (Tuesday), the real GDP grew by 1.6% compared to the second quarter of the same year (2025), with the total real GDP reaching about $474.4 billion in the third quarter.

Saudi Arabia contributes more than 50% of Gulf economic growth

The relative distribution of economic activities at current prices during the third quarter of 2025 showed Saudi Arabia's continued position as the largest contributor to Gulf economies' growth, with a contribution of $318.7 billion (accounting for 53.5% of the total current Gulf GDP).

The United Arab Emirates ranked second with $144.4 billion (24.2%), followed by Qatar with $54.1 billion (9.1%). Kuwait recorded a total output of $39.6 billion (6.6%), while Oman's economic contribution reached about $27.1 billion (4.5%) and Bahrain about $12.1 billion (2%).

Nominal growth

Regarding developments in economic activities at current prices (which account for price movements and inflation), the GDP of the GCC countries rose by 2.2% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, compared to the same quarter of 2024. It also recorded a quarterly increase of 1.1% compared to the second quarter of 2025, bringing the absolute value of the Gulf economy at current prices to $595.8 billion.
