Atlético Madrid, led by coach Diego Simeone, has broken a historic record in football, as it includes 10 players in the World Cup final.

Atlético Madrid surpasses the previous record held by Juventus, which provided 9 players in the Italy squad that faced Czechoslovakia in the 1934 World Cup final.

Atlético has 6 players in the Argentina national team, along with 4 Spanish players, who will face each other on Sunday, July 19.

The Atlético players in Lionel Scaloni's squad are Juan Musso, Nahuel Molina, Giuliano Simeone, Thiago Almada, Julián Álvarez, and Nico González.

Nico González played for Atlético Madrid last season, on loan from Juventus, and delivered a good performance that allowed him to secure his place in the World Cup.

The Spain national team includes Marcos Llorente, Marc Pubill, Álex Baena, and Alejandro Grimaldo from the capital's club, while Barcelona remains the most represented, with eight players.

Italy's squad in the 1934 World Cup final included nine players from Juventus, five of them starters: Gianpiero Combi, Luigi Bertolini, Giovanni Ferrari, Luis Monti, and Raimundo Orsi.

In addition to these, the squad of legendary coach Vittorio Pozzo also included Virginio Rosetta, Umberto Caligaris, Felice Borel, and Mario Varglien.
