Auction: Trading of 3.66 million shares worth 74 million riyals

The auction and closing price trading periods in the Saudi financial market on Sunday witnessed trades amounting to about 3.66 million shares worth 74 million riyals, through 5,652 transactions.

Arqam monitors in this daily report the difference between the initial close at exactly 3:00 p.m. and the final close at 3:20 p.m. after the end of trading at the closing price, as well as the difference in trading volume between the two closes, as the following table shows:

It is noted that the closing auction period comes after the continuous trading period from 3:00 p.m. to 3:10 p.m.; during this period, investors can enter buy and sell orders, and then the trading system finds the fair price at which orders are executed after matching them in the auction period. The execution price is the closing price and the reference price for the next day.

The trading session at the closing price extends for ten minutes after the closing auction period from 3:10 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. for both the main market and Nomu, in addition to the traded priority rights, and investors can trade during this session at the closing price resulting from the closing auction.
