Economic / Sea Water Cooling Project in Jazan City for Basic and Downstream Industries.. Advanced Infrastructure Enhances Industrial Sector Competitiveness
Jizan, Muharram 29, 1448 AH, corresponding to July 14, 2026, SPA – Jazan City for Basic and Downstream Industries is witnessing rapid development momentum, supported by the implementation of qualitative projects to develop infrastructure and support services, contributing to creating an integrated industrial environment that meets the requirements of industrial expansion, enhancing the city's readiness to attract investments, and consolidating its position as a competitive industrial and logistics center, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. Among the most prominent of these projects is the Sea Water Cooling Project – Phase 1, which aims to provide an advanced system to secure the cooling water needs of industrial facilities, to support the sustainability of operational processes, raise the efficiency of support services for the industrial sector, and enhance the city's competitiveness as one of the most promising industrial cities in the Kingdom. The project has reached advanced stages of implementation, with a completion rate of (98.33%), in preparation for operating an integrated system that relies on the latest global technologies for drawing, transferring, and distributing seawater to ensure the sustainability of support services for the industrial sector. The project is based on the construction of two advanced marine pipelines, each (3.25) kilometers long, to transfer seawater to a main pumping station with a capacity of (160,000) cubic meters per hour, providing large quantities of water needed for cooling operations in industrial facilities. The operational system operates through four main high-efficiency turbine pumps in Phase 1, with two additional pumps to be added in Phase 2, bringing the total number of pumps to six, enhancing operational capacity and raising the level of reliability and readiness to meet increasing demand. The project includes modern water sterilization and treatment systems, aimed at maintaining water quality and protecting operational systems, along with an advanced electrical infrastructure that contributes to raising operational reliability and ensuring service continuity according to the highest technical standards. The project includes the implementation of a land pipeline network of approximately (8) kilometers in length, to support supply and recycling operations, enhancing the efficiency of the cooling system and raising the operational performance level of industrial facilities. The project also includes the implementation of a set of support buildings and facilities, including administration buildings, technical workshops, security facilities, and fire tanks, in addition to road works, landscaping, and support services, contributing to completing the infrastructure system and improving the surrounding environment. The project represents a qualitative addition to the utilities and services system in Jazan City for Basic and Downstream Industries, by providing an advanced seawater cooling system based on the latest technologies aimed at raising operational efficiency, enhancing service reliability, and supporting future industrial expansion in the city. // End //15:20 PM 0110
