Expert: Growth in Operating Revenues Affirms Strength of Saudi Economy Despite Global Challenges
Economic expert Bandar Al-Ju'aid said that economic stability is one of the most prominent factors that stimulate banks to spend and invest, noting that recent performance indicators reflect the strength of the Saudi economy.
Al-Ju'aid explained in statements on "Al-Arabiya FM" that the leap in operating revenue growth, given the current developments in the global economy and the state of uncertainty and geopolitical tensions, represents a positive indicator of the strength of the economy in the Kingdom.
He added that non-oil sectors were the main driver of this performance, explaining that the mining and industry sector, and the financial services and insurance sector led this indicator to achieve positive results.

The General Authority for Statistics announced in the short-term business indicators bulletin for May 2026, which showed an increase in the operating revenue index by 11.4% compared to May 2025.
The bulletin explained that this growth was supported by the improved performance of a number of economic activities, led by mining and quarrying activity which recorded growth of 38.7%, manufacturing activity by 9.6%, along with an increase in wholesale and retail trade and repair of vehicles by 3.6%, and an increase in construction and financial and insurance activities by 2.5% and 12.9% respectively.
