Gold prices rise to highest level in nearly two weeks
Gold prices rose on Wednesday to their highest level in nearly two weeks, supported by technical buying, as investors await the Federal Reserve meeting next week for clues on interest rate expectations.
Spot gold climbed 0.9% to 4113.73 dollars per ounce at 0123 GMT, after hitting its highest since July 10. U.S. gold futures for August delivery jumped 1.1% to 4119.1 dollars.
Among other precious metals, spot silver rose 1.8% to 59.82 dollars per ounce, platinum gained 1.6% to 1655.61 dollars, and palladium increased 1.6% to 1302.25 dollars.
