Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) -- Forbes has released its list of the top 100 Arab family businesses for 2026, highlighting the pivotal role these companies play in the region's economy. Family businesses are not just a part of the Arab economic landscape; they are one of its main pillars.

The list comes at a time when the GDP of Arab countries reached about $3.8 trillion in 2025, with expectations it will exceed $4 trillion in 2026, according to the Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (Dhaman).

This year's list shows the continued dominance of Gulf Cooperation Council countries, with Gulf companies accounting for 86 spots on the list: 32 from Saudi Arabia, 31 from the UAE, and 10 from Qatar. However, the list also includes companies from Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Lebanon, and Algeria, indicating that the influence of Arab family businesses extends beyond the Gulf.
