The General Authority for Real Estate, with the participation of relevant government entities, conducted 27 joint inspection rounds during last June, which included visiting 285 real estate establishments in several regions of the Kingdom; with the aim of ensuring compliance with real estate legislation in general, and the real estate brokerage system in particular, in addition to matters related to the competencies of the participating government entities. The Authority explained that field work is one of the pathways it is working on to regulate the real estate market, noting that its inspection teams during the same period carried out 14,637 field inspection audits on billboards and real estate offices, resulting in the detection of a number of violations, consisting of practicing real estate brokerage or real estate services without obtaining a valid license, failure to exercise due diligence to verify the accuracy of information obtained from the property owner or beneficiary, and failure to disclose the licensee's name or license number in property-related advertisements. The Authority also received 1,476 real estate reports through its various channels, which were handled and processed, while the number of electronic scans exceeded 24,377 processes, as the Authority adopts electronic monitoring targeting digital channels and real estate platforms to verify the legality of advertisements and digital real estate brokerage practices, in accordance with regulations and laws.
