The net profit of Arab National Bank rose by 6.5% during the second quarter of this year on an annual basis to 1.42 billion riyals, compared to a net profit of 1.33 billion riyals during the same quarter last year.

"Al-Arabi" explained in a statement on "Tadawul" today Monday, that the growth in net income is due to an increase in net gains from financial instruments measured at fair value through profit or loss, net gains from sale of investments acquired for non-trading purposes, net foreign currency exchange gains, other operating income, and special commission income.

This was accompanied by a decrease in net expected credit loss provision and other provisions, an increase in costs related to salaries and employee expenses, other general and administrative expenses, depreciation and amortization and building-related expenses, a decrease in dividends, and net trading income, fees and commissions.
