Saudi Arabia condemns Iran's targeting of two tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, calling it a violation of international law and a threat to global energy supplies.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday expressed the Kingdom's strongest condemnation of Iran's targeting of the Saudi tanker 'Wadyan' while it was crossing the Strait of Hormuz, along with the targeting of the Qatari tanker 'Al-Rakiyat', stressing that these attacks constitute a violation of the security and safety of international navigation and a threat to global energy supplies.
The ministry affirmed in a statement that Iran's continued perpetration of these attacks is a grave violation of international law and norms, and of international resolutions that guarantee freedom of maritime navigation and safe passage in sea lanes.

The Kingdom stressed its demand that Iran immediately cease all actions that threaten the security of the region, the safety of international navigation, and energy supplies, affirming that it holds Iran fully responsible for these attacks and their resulting damages and repercussions.
The Kingdom also reiterated the importance of protecting international maritime corridors and ensuring the security of navigation and the stability of global energy markets, which contributes to enhancing regional and international security and stability.
