Banque Saudi Fransi achieved a 6% increase in net profit for the second quarter, while the board of directors decided to distribute cash dividends to shareholders worth 1.4 billion riyals for the first half, according to two separate disclosures announced on Monday.
The bank's net profit for the second quarter reached about 1.5 billion riyals, compared to 1.4 billion riyals in the same quarter last year.
The increase in net income was primarily driven by a 5.2% growth in total operating income, offset by a partial increase in total operating expenses of 2.1%, according to one of the disclosures.

Total operating income increased, supported by a rise in net special commission income, net fee and commission income, foreign exchange income, and trading income, offset by a partial decline in gains on investments acquired not held for trading.
The bank's net profit for the first half reached 2.87 billion riyals, up 4.6% from 2.74 billion riyals achieved in the first half of last year.

Regarding the cash dividends that the board decided to distribute for the first half of the year, the share per share amounts to 0.57 riyals after deducting Zakat.
The bank received no objection from the Saudi Central Bank to the board's decision to distribute cash dividends to shareholders.
First-half dividends will be for shareholders who own the bank's shares as of the close of trading on the coming Thursday, and who are registered in the company's shareholder register with the Securities Depository Center (Edaa) by the end of the second trading day following the record date.
