Major indices on Wall Street began Friday's trading lower as a sell-off in chip stocks intensified amid investor assessment of the market's rally this year supported by artificial intelligence technology, while pressure mounted following weak forecasts from Netflix.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 126.5 points, or 0.24%, to 52426.46 points.
