Egyptian artist Ahmed Al-Sakka affirmed, in his interview with 'Al-Youm' on the sidelines of the special screening of the film 'Take Care of Yourself' in Jeddah, that the film industry has an impact beyond entertainment, describing it as one of the strongest tools for shaping awareness and creating memory.

He pointed out that many of the moments he shared with the work team, artists, and guest stars during the film will remain among the most beautiful memories in his artistic career.

Al-Sakka explained that he always strives to choose roles that he loves and feels able to portray honestly, stressing that his goal is not limited to satisfying his passion as an actor, but extends to presenting works that enrich Arab cinema and add real artistic value to it.

History of Egyptian cinema

He reviewed the history of Egyptian cinema, stating that during the 1950s and 1960s of the last century, it was one of the sources of national income in Egypt. He also touched on the beginnings of the seventh art with the Lumière brothers in France, before the film industry moved to Egypt, which was one of the first countries in the region to embrace this art, starting from Alexandria and silent films. He said that cinema is not just a means of entertainment, but a soft power capable of shaping the consciousness of peoples and making their history, adding that countries without a long history were able, through cinema, to create history and global presence, which reflects the magnitude of the impact that this industry possesses. He pointed out that Arab and Islamic history is rich with epics, conquests, and inspiring figures, stressing that this legacy represents rich content that deserves to be turned into major cinematic works that introduce the world to Arab and Islamic civilization and its historical icons. Al-Sakka expressed his wish to present huge historical works during his career, noting that he looks forward to portraying prominent historical figures in works of the size and value of immortal films such as 'The Message' and 'Omar Mukhtar', due to their great cultural and humanitarian impact.

Al-Sakka praised the role played by His Excellency Advisor Turki Al-Sheikh in supporting the Arab film industry, describing him as one of the best investors in this sector. He said that he has an open vision towards the world and leads great efforts that deserve appreciation, adding that he is a brother and friend, and possesses intelligent investment thinking that has contributed to supporting and developing the Arab film industry. At the conclusion of his speech, Al-Sakka extended a special greeting to the Saudi public, and to the people of Jeddah in particular, expressing his happiness to be among them during the special screening of the film, and stressing that his participation in 'Take Care of Yourself' represents a new challenge in his career, and he hopes the work will win the approval of the audience. He added that he has friendships with many Saudis, and the Kingdom is not foreign to him, as he has previously visited a number of its cities and traveled between them by car, which allowed him to closely learn about the nature of the Kingdom and its people, stressing that his visit to the Kingdom always carries beautiful memories and a special feeling.
