The Red Sea Fund, one of the programs of the Red Sea Film Foundation, and Film AlUla have announced the strengthening of their strategic partnership to support a number of film projects advancing to production and shooting stages in AlUla during 2026, in a step that reflects the depth of cooperation between the two entities in empowering regional and international talent and enhancing the film industry ecosystem in the Kingdom. The supported projects include the film "Jo of Montreal" directed by Amin Naiyfeh and produced by Bassam Al-Asaad, a work that explores a journey of maturity and self-discovery of cultural identity. The list also includes the film "Madness and Honey Days" directed by Ahmad Yassin Al-Daraji and produced by Maitham Jabbara, a drama with human and historical dimensions that explores the relationship between power and the individual in a turbulent context. Added to this is the short fiction film "Sura" written and directed by Zahra Mohammed Al-Dhamin and produced by Bashayer Aqeel, which addresses questions of identity and belonging through the human journey of a girl at a pivotal age. This collaboration reflects a broader scope of production support, extending to preparing works for the shooting phase, attracting local talent, and enhancing production opportunities within the Kingdom. Parts of these works are scheduled to be filmed in AlUla's natural and heritage sites, contributing to showcasing the site's aesthetic features and solidifying its position as an inspiring film production destination regionally and internationally. Amr Iskandar, Director of the Red Sea Fund, said: "This partnership embodies our vision to empower filmmakers and support projects with distinguished creative voices to reach the production stage.
