Tourism and Entertainment / Jeddah's Major Parks Transform into Central Hubs for Entertainment and Community Activity in Summer 2026

Jeddah, Muharram 20, 1448 AH, corresponding to July 5, 2026, SPA — The major parks in Jeddah are transforming during the summer season of 2026 into major urban destinations attracting residents and visitors, with their vast green spaces and integrated recreational and service facilities, making them among the most prominent attractions within the city's urban fabric.

Prince Majid Park stands out as one of the most important of these destinations, with an area exceeding 130,000 square meters and its vital location in the Al-Rabwah district. It combines vast green spaces, play areas, and walking paths, in addition to service facilities that support family use, turning it into an open space that accommodates recreational activities and community events throughout the year.

In the city center, Al-Saja Gardens is one of the pioneering projects that reshaped the concept of a central park. It extends over an area exceeding 60,000 square meters and includes walking and cycling paths, children's play areas, and green spaces distributed across several zones within the park. The site gains its centrality as an urban destination designed to integrate with a group of neighboring parks, together forming an integrated recreational fabric serving residents of surrounding neighborhoods.

As for Al-Ajwad Park east of Jeddah, it represents a modern addition to the major park system. It extends over an area exceeding 70,000 square meters, featuring a circular walking and cycling path over a kilometer long, alongside vast green spaces, designated children's areas, and service facilities, while preserving the site's natural character by blending environmental elements with recreational components.

These major parks reflect a trend toward enhancing the concept of the 'central park' within neighborhoods, allowing residents access to open spaces equipped with integrated specifications that support sports and social activities and provide a suitable environment for families during holidays and peak seasonal periods.

These sites are linked to a broader network of parks, pathways, and public spaces spread across the city, enhancing the diversity of recreational options and giving visitors the opportunity to move between multiple destinations within a single urban scope.

These parks witness increasing turnout from families and visitors during the summer season, thanks to the safe environments, spacious areas, and diverse facilities they offer, along with their connection to urban landscape improvement programs and humanization initiatives that have contributed to enhancing the quality of life in Jeddah.

The efforts of the Jeddah Governorate Municipality in implementing and preparing these destinations come within a continuous development path aimed at enhancing the presence of public parks as an essential element in daily life and a key component of the city's experience during seasons and holidays.
