The orthopedic surgery team at Almana Hospital in Al-Ahsa successfully performed an advanced reverse shoulder joint replacement surgery on a female patient in her sixties, who was suffering from chronic shoulder pain and severe weakness in movement, which significantly affected her ability to carry out her daily activities.

After clinical examinations and diagnostic imaging, the results showed a wide tear in the shoulder tendons, accompanied by severe muscle atrophy, advanced arthritis, and joint stiffness, which necessitated surgical intervention to restore the natural function of the joint and improve the patient's quality of life.

Dr. Adnan Al-Rashed, consultant in joint replacement surgery, sports medicine, and upper limb surgery, explained that the case required a total reverse shoulder joint replacement, which is one of the advanced surgical solutions for cases with severe damage to the rotator cuff tendons. The surgery was performed successfully using the latest medical techniques.

The patient left the hospital on the second day after surgery in a stable condition, with a noticeable improvement in pain levels, and began a rehabilitation program aimed at restoring shoulder movement and function, in preparation for her gradual return to daily activities.

Almana Hospital in Al-Ahsa continues to provide its advanced specialized services in orthopedic and joint surgeries through highly experienced medical staff and modern treatment techniques, enhancing the quality of healthcare and elevating the patient experience in accordance with the highest standards of quality and patient safety.
