General / Minister of Health Honors National Talents Who Won Arab Awards in Medicine and Nursing
Riyadh, Dhul Hijjah 28, 1447 AH, corresponding to June 14, 2026, SPA — His Excellency the Minister of Health, Mr. Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, honored a group of national health talents who won the Arab Awards in Medicine and Nursing for the year 2025, in recognition of their professional and scientific contributions and the achievements they have made that reflect the distinction of Saudi cadres and their ability to compete and lead regionally and internationally. His Excellency said: "We are proud of the qualitative achievements made by national health talents, which embody the capabilities of the sons and daughters of the nation and their excellence in various specialties, and reflect the support that the health sector and its cadres receive from the wise leadership — may God support them — and the qualitative opportunities for empowerment, innovation, and achievement provided by the Kingdom's Vision 2030." The honoring in the field of medicine included Professor Dr. Zuhair Al-Halis, Senior Consultant of Cardiac Surgery at King Faisal Specialist Hospital, winner of the Excellence, Leadership, and Professional Medical Impact Award, and Professor Dr. Ahmed Bahammam, Director of Prince Naif Center for Health Research, winner of the Arab Doctor Award for the year 2025 in the field of Scientific Research and Innovation. In the field of nursing and midwifery, His Excellency honored Dr. Badria Al-Shahri, winner of the Outstanding Work Award in the Nursing and Midwifery Professions for the "Nathathon" project, concerned with developing nursing education and training. He also honored the Saudi team consisting of Dr. Manal Banasser, Jawhara Al-Harbi, Reem Al-Humaidan, Iman Al-Shammari, and Abdulrahman Abu Khada'a, after winning the first prize in the field of Clinical Practice for Teamwork for the project "Capacity Building Model in Critical Care Departments during Disaster Time." These achievements embody the advanced levels reached by Saudi health talents in professional practice, scientific research, and innovation, and reflect the impact of national capacity empowerment programs and the creation of an environment supportive of excellence, enhancing the competitiveness and status of the Saudi health sector regionally and internationally. The awards were presented during the work of the 63rd regular session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, celebrating distinguished Arab talents and their contributions to developing medical and nursing practices and promoting scientific research and innovation in the health sector.
