A back pain that a young Briton believed was caused by carrying heavy boxes while working at a bar turned into a tragedy ending in his death at age 32, after tests revealed he had a rare and dangerous type of cancer he did not expect.

Roy Mwijuka, from Dagenham, East London, died in the early hours of July 8, after a battle lasting nearly two years with synovial sarcoma, one of the rarest types of cancer, diagnosed in fewer than 80 people annually in England.
