A specialized medical team in obstetrics and gynecology at the Maternity and Children's Hospital in King Salman Medical City in Medina successfully performed a cesarean delivery for a woman in her thirties using the EXIT technique, after her fetus was diagnosed before birth with a teratoma in the neck area.

The Medina Health Cluster explained that the case required high-precision medical intervention and integrated coordination among several medical specialties, as the team decided to resort to the EXIT technique, which allows the newborn to remain connected to the placenta until the airway is fully secured, ensuring safe management of the condition from the moment of birth.

The Cluster indicated that the operation was performed with complete success, where the newborn's airway was secured and his safety and that of his mother were maintained, without any complications during the procedure.

The Medina Health Cluster confirmed that this achievement reflects the readiness and high competence of the medical staff, as well as the integration of work among different specialties, which contributes to providing advanced healthcare according to the highest standards, especially in high-risk pregnancy cases.
