The Madinah Health Cluster has launched an integrated pathway for high-risk pregnancy care, based on early follow-up in primary care centers, referral of cases to specialized hospitals and a multidisciplinary medical team, with an advanced placenta center, and continued postnatal care through well-baby clinics to ensure the safety of mother and fetus.
The Madinah Health Cluster launched an integrated pathway for high-risk pregnancy care, within a system aiming to enhance health care integration, through a multidisciplinary medical team providing comprehensive care and precise follow-up throughout pregnancy stages, thereby enhancing the safety of mother and fetus and ensuring management of high-risk cases according to the latest medical practices and technologies.
The cluster explained, through a visual presentation, that the pregnancy journey begins from day one, necessitating regular follow-up in specialized pregnancy clinics at primary health care centers, which offer a package of services including laboratory tests, ultrasound imaging, health education, and continuous monitoring under the supervision of qualified health personnel, with the ability to book appointments via the 'Sehaty' app.
The cluster stated that a diagnosis of high-risk pregnancy activates an integrated care pathway starting with referral of the case to specialized hospitals, completion of necessary tests, and then follow-up by a multidisciplinary medical team using the latest medical technologies.
He added that the pathway includes follow-up of advanced placenta cases according to a precise treatment plan until the delivery date, and when necessary, a cesarean section is performed at the advanced placenta center with a specialized team including interventional radiologists, contributing to reducing complications and enhancing maternal and fetal safety.
The Madinah Health Cluster confirmed that care services extend beyond childbirth, through well-baby clinics in primary health care centers, to monitor child growth and complete vaccinations, within an integrated care system that begins with a safe pregnancy and continues to maintain the health of mother and child.
