A multidisciplinary medical team treated him using plasma exchange technique. The child was in good health, but suddenly developed symptoms of numbness and tingling in both lower limbs, which progressed within hours to severe weakness, before he completely lost the ability to move his lower limbs and total loss of sensation in them, in addition to swelling in the navel and loss of bladder control. Therapeutic plasma exchange is a technique used to purify blood by removing harmful substances from the plasma, such as antibodies that attack the body's own tissues, and some toxins or abnormal proteins. The rapid intervention and purification of blood from harmful inflammatory elements were the decisive factor, by God's will, in protecting the child from permanent disability.
