A Verse and Its Echo

In the past, half the group were my uncles; today, I am the uncle of half the group.

Last week's verse by poet Abdullah Al-Sharif, which says:

In the past, half the group were my uncles

And today I am the uncle of half the group

And the echoes of the verse from the poets:

It hit the mark, poetry is success and inspiration

I don't know who you are, but your talk has substance

The secret was about dear ones and relatives

And it turned, oh Lord, intercession upon you

Abdulaziz Al-Suqeiri - Hail

Your world, as long as it has rulers and governors

And life runs between hour and hour

It's not on one, you see it on the general

And everyone wants to take their share and enjoyment

Even if you live as long as Prophet Shu'ayb, death is ahead

The lucky one is he who spent his life in obedience

Ali Burjis Al-Misqar - Riyadh

Days walk us, year after year

And nights prefer to hasten like a clock

Those who yesterday and the day before were uncles to us

They died, and people's remembrance is pride and courage

And he who yesterday, his age was in days

Today, in his generation, he is a strong arm

Saleh bin Ibrahim Al-Sunaidi - Al-Huraiq (Al-Washm)

This, you see, is the world over the years

It takes, it gives, no greed behind it

He who stumbles, O son of nobles, does not rise

Even if his status is at the peak of highness

Do not look at differences, look forward

And God help you after the loss of the group

The one who knows the unseen of days

The Creator, the Worshipped, Lord of Intercession

Saud Thawab Al-Mutairi - Al-Qassim

Our lifetimes pass with years and years

And we have become elders among all the group

Youth has gone, and with it the days have gone

And we count the hours, hour by hour

And praise be to God, as long as we are in security and Islam

And under the shadow of our state, with hearing and obedience

Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sunaidi - Riyadh

The situation does not stay as it is, the general

And life passes like the passing of merchandise

First, small, oh how nice you look in your outfit

You frolic and play, not caring about obedience

And you don't think if sleep comes, you sleep

Today, the turn has come in the span of an hour

Life goes on, and our religion is the religion of Islam

The dream passes, then folds its sail

Hamad Abdullah Al-Waili - Houtat Sudair

Verse of the Week

The next Verse of the Week was written by the poet Al-Khuzama:

Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sunaidi from Riyadh

And he says:

You see, the whiteness of the garment is not a measure

The white heart is the measure of cleanliness
