In our contemporary world, we witness a widespread proliferation of tattoos and 'tattoo' that cover parts of the body, to the extent that for some people they have become a hallmark of distinction, a symbol of freedom, or a means to keep up with fashion. We see this clearly these nights as we follow World Cup matches and watch most international players filling their bodies with tattoos; some have doctrinal connotations, while others carry racist and personal implications.

True beauty is not based on distorting the innate nature (fitrah), nor on altering the features of the body that God has placed in man, but rather on harmony, cleanliness, dignity, and good appearance.

Moreover, the legal texts (Sharia) came warning against tattooing, including what is established in the two Sahihs (Bukhari and Muslim) on the authority of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) cursed those who tattoo and those who get tattooed, and considered that a change to Allah's creation.

High civilizations elevate the value of a person, not by the abundance of what is drawn on his body, and they celebrate the beauty of morals, knowledge, and action before preoccupying themselves with fleeting appearances. The body in its essence is a trust, not a blank page for changing fashion experiments; what is considered a symbol of elegance today may become a source of regret tomorrow, and the beauty of innate nature (fitrah) remains a beauty whose value does not fade with the changing times.

Not everything that spreads on social media or is tattooed on players' bodies is worthy of imitation; not every fashion deserves to be followed. The most beautiful adornment of a person is his noble character, cleanliness, smile, politeness, and good conduct. These are the ornaments that do not fade, do not require a needle, nor color, nor a scratch on a body that God has honored and created in the best of forms. Stay well, until we meet again, and peace.
