Al Ahsa Municipality expanded the public transport project services by increasing bus stops to 225 points and launching a new route connecting several cities and vital locations, in response to the increasing demand for the service during the current year.
The official spokesman for Al Ahsa Municipality, Khaled Bouwashal, explained that the increase in stops by nearly 70% was accompanied by a comprehensive restructuring of routes, noting that the update included launching a new route directly serving the cities of Al-Jafr, Al-Omran, and Al-Oyoon.

He pointed out that the updated route passes through the historical center of Al-Hofuf and connects it to the center of Al-Mubarraz and Prince Saud Al-Faisal Road, adding that bus trips now include commercial, entertainment, and historical destinations such as Al-Qaisariya Market.

Bouwashal revealed that the project has recorded escalating operational indicators, reflected in the continuous increase in the number of passengers from citizens and visitors. He attributed this growth to the provision of multiple electronic payment methods, including the app, transport cards, and bank cards. He noted that buses adhere to scheduled timings despite the expansion of routes and geographical distances between cities, stressing that the modern fleet provides a comfortable and safe travel experience that enhances the objectives of the public transport system in the governorate. He invited citizens and visitors to experience Al Ahsa buses as a modern means of transport that offers comfort to users, pointing out that the project directly contributes to facilitating field mobility between various cities and locations in Al Ahsa.
