Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Majid Al-Haqil, today (Thursday) inaugurated a number of completed municipal and housing projects in Al-Baha and laid the foundation stone for new projects, with total investments exceeding SAR 1.67 billion, in addition to handing over housing units to beneficiaries of developmental housing.

The municipal projects included the inauguration of completed projects worth SAR 464 million, in addition to laying the foundation stone for new projects worth SAR 873.5 million, including roads, sidewalks, lighting, flood risk mitigation, gardens and parks, and municipal facilities, contributing to infrastructure development and improving the quality of services provided to residents and visitors.

He also inaugurated completed housing projects worth SAR 185.7 million, including the Tal Al-Mufarrija project and developmental housing projects in the governorates of Baljurashi and Qalwah, in addition to laying the foundation stone for new housing projects worth SAR 150 million under off-plan sales, to increase housing supply and enable families to own homes.

Al-Haqil witnessed the inauguration of 16 municipal investment projects with total revenues of SAR 284 million, the handover of 19 housing units to beneficiaries of developmental housing programs, and the honoring of several major donors participating in the Joud Al-Iskan campaign for the year 1447 AH.

The Minister of Municipalities and Housing also chaired a meeting with leaders of the Al-Baha Region Secretariat to follow up on performance indicators and achievement levels. He also met with a number of citizens to listen to their needs and demands, and met with investors and businessmen to discuss investment opportunities in the municipal and housing sectors.

He visited a number of qualitative investment and tourism projects, most notably the Raghadan Tourist Resort 'Sira', supported by the Tourism Development Fund in partnership with Sira Holding Group, and the 'Rotana Edge' hotel supported by the Tourism Development Fund, in addition to the 'Al-Baha Plaza' project spanning an area of over 9,000 square meters, the 'Makamaya Tourist Accommodation' project, and the 'Qamra - Honey Garden' project developed by Asfar Saudi for Tourism Investment, one of the companies of the Public Investment Fund.

He reviewed the readiness of the Emergency and Crisis Center in the Al-Baha Region Secretariat after the completion of its new headquarters' operation at 100%, emphasizing the importance of developing the emergency system and enhancing response efficiency to emergency cases, strengthening the municipal sector's preparedness to deal with various conditions.

It is noted that the Minister of Municipalities and Housing's visit to the Al-Baha region comes within the framework of following up on the implementation of development projects and programs, assessing the level of achievement in the municipal and housing sectors, and enhancing partnership with relevant authorities, contributing to the development of investment opportunities, improving quality of life, and achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
