The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has made the service of renewing commercial licenses available electronically via the "Balady" platform, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop digital municipal services, improve the quality of services provided to beneficiaries, and enhance the business environment, in line with the targets of Saudi Vision 2030 for digital transformation. Beneficial Use The official spokesman for the ministry, Mohammed Al-Rasassma, explained that the commercial license renewal service enables business owners to complete all renewal procedures electronically, by logging into the "Balady" platform via the unified national access (Absher), selecting the commercial license renewal service, completing the request and paying the fees, without the need to visit municipality offices. He stated that among the key requirements for license renewal is providing proof of beneficial use of the location, in addition to meeting the requirements of the "Safety" platform for civil defense according to the nature of the activity, noting that it is possible to renew the license up to 90 days before its expiration, in addition to the possibility of renewing expired licenses according to the relevant regulations. Registered Identity Al-Rasassma pointed out that the non-display of commercial license data when submitting a renewal request may be related to the identity registered on the license or the commercial register, stressing the importance of verifying data through electronic inquiry services on the "Balady" platform, and the necessity of the commercial register being valid to complete the renewal procedures; as the service cannot be executed if the register has expired until it is renewed. He added that the "Balady" platform also offers the service of canceling commercial licenses electronically in case the activity has ceased or there is no desire to continue. The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing called on owners of commercial establishments to benefit from the electronic services provided by the "Balady" platform, and to review the statutory requirements and conditions to ensure the continuity of commercial activities and benefit from municipal services with ease and convenience. Renewal of commercial licenses: Completing renewal procedures without visiting municipalities. Access the service via unified national access (Absher). Proof of beneficial use of the location is a condition for license renewal. Meeting the requirements of the Safety platform according to the nature of the activity. Possibility of renewal up to 90 days before license expiration. Allowing renewal of expired licenses according to regulations. Verification of registered identity when license data does not appear. The commercial register must be valid to complete renewal.
