The General Authority for Defense Development launched the second edition of the Industrial Sabbatical Program for faculty members at national universities, which aims to enhance interaction between researchers at national universities and the defense development and manufacturing sector, by providing faculty members with the opportunity to join development teams in companies and national development centers, thereby contributing to knowledge transfer and creating opportunities for partnership and collaboration between universities and the industrial sector.

The Prince Sultan Defense Studies and Research Center hosted a meeting of His Excellency the Governor of the General Authority for Defense Development, Dr. Faleh Al-Sulaiman, with faculty members joining the program in its second cycle, coinciding with the start of the summer sabbatical phase, which allows them to work with research and development teams at the center, as well as in companies and national development centers.

His Excellency the Governor of the General Authority for Defense Development, Dr. Faleh Al-Sulaiman, said during his meeting with faculty members who began their sabbatical: 'The presence of a researcher alongside industry contributes to the development of scientific research, enhances understanding of manufacturing and development requirements, and transforms knowledge into impactful solutions and technologies. In the past, there was a gap between universities, development centers, and industry. Today, we have a bridge connecting them through programs that support and direct university research and postgraduate research towards national needs.'
