A meeting was held in the Kingdom between the Saudi and Iraqi sides, chaired by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Dr. Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Republic of Iraq, with the attendance of a number of Their Excellencies and high-ranking officials from both sides.

During the meeting, the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance them in various fields were discussed, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the region and issues of common interest.

The two sides affirmed the importance of respecting national sovereignty, good neighborliness, non-interference in internal affairs, and rejecting the use of any country's territory to threaten the security and stability of other countries.

Iraq reiterated its commitment not to allow the use of its territory or airspace as a launching point for any actions or attacks targeting the Kingdom, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, or regional states.

The two sides also stressed the importance of supporting Iraq's security and stability, strengthening the role of its national institutions, and continuing coordination and cooperation between the two countries to serve common interests and contribute to the security and stability of the region.

On the other hand, His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs held phone calls with His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar; His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi; His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani; and His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Al Safadi.

During the calls, the latest developments in the region were reviewed, and emphasis was placed on condemning the repeated Iranian aggressions against regional countries and rejecting anything that could undermine the sovereignty of states or threaten the region's security and stability.

Views were also exchanged on a number of topics, foremost among them efforts to restore security and de-escalation, and ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs also received a phone call from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha.

During the call, bilateral relations between the two countries were reviewed, regional developments and the developments of the Ukrainian crisis were discussed, in addition to discussing a number of issues of common interest.
