Doha, July 11 (QNA) - The Ministry of Labour, represented by the Qualification and Skills Development Department, launched today, in cooperation with a number of private sector entities, the summer training programme "Skills 2026", one of the human capacity development programmes, dedicated to Qatari secondary and university students (including children of Qatari women), registered via the Ministry's website, as part of efforts to implement the national plan for localization in the private sector "We Work for Qatar".

The programme provides training opportunities for Qataris and children of Qatari women in a number of key economic sectors, including financial services, logistics services, manufacturing, construction and building, education, tourism, food and agriculture, information technology and digital services, and health services, contributing to developing their expertise and enhancing their professional and career readiness.

The programme aims to develop students' practical skills, equip them with necessary experience, and enhance their readiness to join the labour market, in addition to familiarizing them with the nature of professions and jobs in various economic sectors, and enabling them to assess the extent to which their skills and abilities align with the requirements of those professions, thus helping them to properly plan their academic and professional paths and make more informed future decisions regarding their career choices.

The "Skills 2026" programme comes within the Ministry of Labour's efforts to strengthen partnership with success partners in the private sector, with the aim of preparing a generation of qualified national competencies to support the development process and enhance the competitiveness of the national economy, by providing practical training environments that keep pace with the needs of the labour market, and contribute to instilling a culture of work and production and embedding values of responsibility and commitment among students, thus supporting the sustainability of localization and raising the readiness of national cadres to occupy specialized jobs in various sectors, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
