The Kingdom, represented by the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, and the Republic of Mauritius, represented by the Financial Crimes Commission, signed today a memorandum of understanding in the field of preventing corruption and enhancing joint cooperation in combating cross-border crimes related to corruption cases. The Kingdom was represented in signing the memorandum by His Excellency the President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, Mr. Mazen bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, and on the Mauritian side, the head of the Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Teetrodio Dawodary.

The memorandum of understanding aims to enhance institutional cooperation between the two sides, exchange information and expertise, build capacities, and develop specialized practices in the fields of integrity protection, corruption prevention and combating, and combating cross-border crimes related to corruption cases, in line with the provisions of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.

During the visit, His Excellency met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, Dr. Navin Ramgoolam, and also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Mr. Dhananjay Ramphul, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Mauritius, Mr. Fayez bin Mesh'al Al-Tumayyat.

During the two meetings, the bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Mauritius were reviewed, and ways to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of integrity protection, corruption prevention and combating, and exchange of expertise and best practices were discussed, contributing to supporting international efforts aimed at establishing the principles of transparency and governance, and enhancing cooperation in combating financial crimes and cross-border corruption.

This visit comes within the framework of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority's efforts to enhance its international presence and expand its partnerships with counterpart agencies and international organizations, contributing to the exchange of expertise, development of institutional capacities, and support for international efforts to protect integrity and prevent and combat corruption, and enhancing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's position as an active partner in international efforts aimed at establishing the principles of integrity and transparency, in fulfillment of the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
