Asir Environment Launches 10th Regulatory Campaign to Enhance Compliance of Livestock Markets
The branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Asir Region launched the 10th regulatory and awareness campaign to enhance compliance in livestock markets in the region, as part of its ongoing field plan during July, aiming to raise the level of adherence to health and veterinary requirements and enhance the safety of livestock trading.
The branch clarified that the campaign targets livestock markets in various governorates of Asir, through implementing field inspection tours and awareness programs directed at sellers, breeders, and market visitors. These programs aim to introduce the requirements regulating the sale, display, and transport of livestock, as well as best practices to maintain animal health and reduce violations.
In the same context, field teams provide direct guidance to owners and sellers on proper transport requirements and livestock display mechanisms, in addition to applying safety and veterinary health standards, which contributes to enhancing compliance and raising awareness among market participants.
The Director General of the ministry’s branch in Asir Region, Engineer Mohammed bin Ali Al Atif, indicated that the campaign is an extension of the periodic regulatory efforts implemented by the branch, stressing the continued intensification of field tours, especially during commercial activity seasons, which contributes to enhancing compliance with regulations and laws, preserving livestock wealth, and protecting consumers.
