Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khuraif, the Ministry held a workshop on the pioneering national project for the helicopter industry in the Kingdom, in cooperation with the National Center for Industrial Development and Airbus, discussing opportunities for building global partnerships in the aviation industry sector and transferring helicopter manufacturing technologies to the Kingdom, with the participation of 20 local and global suppliers.

The workshop reviewed the strategic targets for the aviation industry in the Kingdom, and specifically helicopter manufacturing, highlighted the development of national industrial capabilities related to the aviation sector, in addition to introducing the enablers, incentives, and initiatives offered by the industrial ecosystem to attract high-quality investments in the industrial sector.

The workshop contributed to enhancing direct communication between local and global suppliers within the aviation sector value chains, thereby strengthening opportunities for building effective global partnerships that contribute to knowledge transfer and localization of the latest aircraft manufacturing technologies in the Kingdom.

A number of relevant government entities participated in the workshop, including the Ministry of Investment, the General Authority for Military Industries, the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), in addition to the Saudi Export-Import Bank.

The workshop comes within the framework of the industrial ecosystem's ongoing efforts to localize high-value industries in the Kingdom, foremost among them the manufacturing of aircraft, helicopters, and their parts, through building strategic partnerships with global aviation industry leaders, thereby solidifying the Kingdom's position as a leading industrial hub in the aviation sector.
